    Na'ima B Robert, born Thando Nomhle McLaren in 1977, is a multicultural author and founding editor of SISTERS Magazine. Raised in Zimbabwe and educated in England, she converted to Islam in 1998. Robert writes children's books and young adult fiction with Muslim themes, such as "The Swirling Hijab" and "From Somalia, With Love." She is a vocal advocate for the niqāb and has appeared in various media to support women's rights to wear it. Robert lives between London and Cairo with her children.
